Our journey will begin with a flight from La Paz to Rurrenabaque, followed by a scenic drive to the Pampas. Once there, we’ll cruise along the Yacuma River, where you’ll spot pink river dolphins, caimans, capybaras, and birds.
We’ll stay in comfortable eco-lodges, surrounded by the serene beauty of the pampas. Each day, we’ll have the chance to observe wildlife, hike through the lush wetlands, and even swim with the dolphins. Take the chance to meet the elusive Bolivian river dolphin (Inia boliviensis). Unlike its marine relatives, this unique dolphin swims in the rivers of the Amazon and can grow up to 9.2 feet long, making it the largest freshwater dolphin in the world.
It also has more teeth, a smaller skull, and a longer body compared to the Amazonian river dolphin. Plus, these freshwater giants can weigh as much as 400 pounds—roughly the weight of two adult male dolphins from the ocean!
